Ruminations upon Monday August 19, 2024 in Paris, France
Today we went to a village in central Paris. First we got lost on a walk to the bus stop. Then we had a 20 minute bus ride to a bus stop near the Moulin Rouge so we sat down and had a snack. After our snack break we walked really far to get to a statue of a lady in a bra that we didn’t actually see! We kept walking to the Artist Village where we saw mostly paintings of Paris, and people who did caricatures. Next we went to get some Italian ice that was really good but the bees also seemed to really like it. When we finished eating/drinking our Italian ice we went to a really big cathedral. The cathedral was called Basilique du Sacré Cœur de Montmartre. We waited in a long line to get in, but the inside was really cool. It had huuuuuuuuuuuge murals of Jesus, and there were lots and lots of candles in memory of different saints. Sadly we couldn’t go to the top to get a good view of Paris. When we finished looking around the cathedral we walked back to our bus stop to wait for our bus to bring us home. While we waited we watched a cool street performer that was right next to the bus stop. Then the bus came and brought us home.
